About DR.Monkey and Monkeys Web

In 1996 I had my first car, a forest green 1969 VW bug; purchased for all of $900. I was hell on wheels, with the exception of my green machine breaking down weekly. On one of these costly and regular occasions I realized that I wouldn't have enough money to pay the shop that was fixing my car. My options were limited, but I knew some HTML. Of course every business in the SF Bay Area wanted a website in 1996 but didn't know how to get one. In a flash I built some ugly HTML table based site, put up a picture of a few cars and a price list. When I got to the shop we dialed in to AOL and pulled up the angel fire url that hosted their shiny new website. The owner didn't really know what to think, but still gave me a 50% discount on my car.

My career in web design got the green light. From that point I was building websites for car dealers, real estate agents and donut shops.

Monkeys Web has come a long way since then. My clients have included various startups, record labels, musicians and, yes porn/adult film companies. Take me for coffee or a pint if you'd like more details on what happened there.
